Valencia Basket Undergoes Medical Check-Ups at Quirónsalud Mercado de Colón

The players of Valencia Basket women’s and men’s teams have completed their preseason medical check-ups ahead of the 2025–2026 season at the Quirónsalud Mercado de Colón Medical Center, located in the heart of the capital of Turia.

The tests were coordinated by Dr. Antonio Giner, head of the Sports Medicine Unit at the Quirónsalud Mercado de Colón Medical Center, and Dr. Vicente Sebastiá, medical director of the taronja team.

The check-up program included a stress test, full blood work, electrocardiogram, and echocardiogram, the latter two overseen by Dr. Catheline Lauwers, Head of the Cardiology Department at Quirónsalud Valencia Hospital.

For the past two years, Quirónsalud Valencia Hospital has been the Official Medical Service of Valencia Basket, providing the taronja team with state-of-the-art technical facilities and a multidisciplinary team of leading professionals in the city, prepared to address any health needs that may arise during the season.

Additionally, Quirónsalud Valencia Hospital has become the reference hospital for the Roig Arena, reaffirming the commitment of both institutions to excellence, innovation, and health in an environment that promotes sport, culture, and well-being.

Committed to sports health

In recent years, it has also safeguarded the health of major sporting events such as the last four editions of the Davis Cup Finals held in Spain, as well as other tournaments including the Billie Jean King Cup, Mutua Madrid Open, Open Banc Sabadell – Trofeo Conde de Godó, the last two editions of the Hexagon Cup in padel, the Ocean Race in sailing, the Nationale-Nederlanden San Silvestre Vallecana, the Behobia/San Sebastián race, and the 2021 Women’s EuroBasket held in Spain, among others.
